The 2 km long sandy beach Pineta di Maria Pia is located in the bay of Alghero in the direction of the airport town Fertilia. Free and paid parking is available on the lakeside road behind the beach. There is also a bus connection and a beautiful cycle path. The beach is gently sloping and the water is mostly clear.

Arrival is through a pine forest 2 minutes walk from the main road, where there is car park for about 5 euros a day. it is possible to arrive from Alghero by bus or on foot, about 1/2 hour walk. it is possible to rent parasols in some parts of the beach but useful to bring your own. A rest in the pine forest at lunch time is superb.

You can rent sun beds with umbrellas for moderate ( for Sardinia ) price! About 20 minutes by bus from city center or 7 minutes by car! Good parking options around.
